Melville le chien et son amie Maricha s'adorent et pour rien au monde l'un ne voudrait blesser l'autre. Mais lorsque Maricha fait lire a Melville les 76 chapitres qu'elle redige en vue de devenir une ecrivaine celebre, il ne sait comment lui avouer sa deception. Pour ajouter a son malheur, il suit ses conseils et s'engage dans un exercice de performance (un concours de cuisine) au cours duquel il perd ses moyens et est humilie par les juges.
